Why would my CRP-HS be high

36f, 170lbs, 5’5 non smoker non drinker, no meds I went to emerg yesterday for really bad back pain and toilet issues- I can have a “real” bowel movement, past few days to a week they’ve all been unsatisfying and thin..like finger width. Also having trouble passing gas even though I can feel it (painfully) bubbling in my stomach the way it would normally and then I’d relieve myself. The doctor I saw is very thorough and did blood work, an x ray and sent me for a ct scan today. X ray and ct showed nothing however my CRP-High sensitivity was a 7.34mg/L. The day before it was 2.18mg/L. I should mention I went it two days ago for the pain and yesterday because of the lack of bowel movement (my town is very small and we don’t have urgent care-it’s emergency room or nothing). I don’t have a family doctor here to go and see. So to summarize: Jan 12 10am CRP-HS= 2.18mg/L Jan 13 430pm CRP-HS= 7.34mg/L X ray and CT both showed nothing remarkable, no extreme stool backing me up no masses. While that’s comforting, I’m obviously still worried about colon cancer (I wasn’t until the doctor said it’s worth looking into because of the back pain and skinny stools). He sent me home with a fleet enema and it didn’t do anything, only got out a few tiny sort of flakey pieces. Biggest question: Why did my CRP more than triple in roughly a day and a half?

Edited to add: the CT was with contrast and my worries now stem from the good ol google and Reddit searches bringing up stories from people who had clean CTs but still had colon cancer which wasn’t caught until a colonoscopy was preformed.
