Passed out as after taking stool softeners. Has happened more than once.

I (39F)just had a bladder sling surgery and of course had to take stool softeners due to anesthesia causing constipation. I took the recommended dose and at 3am woke up to have diarrhea, sweating,. seeing spots, I yelled for help and my husband had to put me on the cold bathroom floor and then I saw black and shit myself. He said I was saying weird things then blacked out. This has happened to be about 2 other times in my life and it's every time I take colace,ducolax etc. So now I guess I'm staying away from that stuff. What causes that? Should I go to the Dr? I thought I was dying.
