Melanoma

Hello, for the last 4 months I have been having unexplained seizures (5 times a week) , brain zaps, brain fog and major major fatigue.

I’m located in Canada and haven’t been able to get in with a neurologist or have a MRI (booked next month finally) however I did have a CT scan which showed a 15mm cyst which every doctor says is unrelated to my symptoms. All my blood work has come back normal. Ive had 2 eegs which come back normal and no family history of seizures.

In 2021 my dermatologist found a mole which tested as melanoma in situ. A week later I was booked with a plastic surgeon who cut around it with clear margins.

A few days ago, I was lucky enough to meet with a neurologist finally. I was explaining to him my past history and told him about the melanoma in situ. He asked me if I ever had an mri to check for brain metastasis to which I replied no and didn’t even really think much of it.. I was so overwhelmed with the whole appointment. After the appointment I processed the question and now I wish I asked him how likely it was for melanoma In situ to travel to my brain? Over the past 3 years and seeing my derm every 6 months she’s never mentioned this is something I should be doing (getting a precautionary brain MRI)? So now I’ve tried calling to get in for a private MRI and that’s even 3-4 weeks away.

My question is, is it possible for melanoma in situ to travel to my brain or highly unlikely? I thought this usually happens at later stages ..? If so, is this something that could have been caught and seen on the CT scan I had? Like I said it did show a 15mm pineal gland cyst and nothing else.

Also, neurologist has said I most likely have epilepsy and given me medication to stop the seizures and I will connect with him in the next 2 weeks to see how it’s working…

Thank you for any insight!
