Vaccine/Covid/Graves Help!?
Sorry for the text wall, I’m so confused about what’s going on here, any thought or insight is much appreciated!
Started noticing symptoms in March 2021 after second Moderna vaccine. Symptoms developed over the next few months including irregular cycle/spotting, rapid heart rate, hair loss, shaking, sweating, mood and anxiety. TSH was tested at <0.005. No weight loss. Graves markers were negative and in the Fall 2021 I had an ultrasound which indicated Thyroidtoxicosis, Unspecified. Referred to endocrinologist who diagnosed me with Thyroiditis caused by the vaccine. In December 2021 my TSH rose to .19, however I contracted COVID shortly after and it dipped back down to undetected. In the summer of 2022, a second ultrasound was in office and did not indicate Graves or significant nodules. The only medicine I have taken is Toprol-XL (50mg). In the last nine months FT3 and FT4 have risen and TSH has remained <0.005. I have had a significant improvement in my physical symptoms. Last week, I had the thyroid uptake test. Results reported to me were that my thyroid took up iodine in a way that she believed indicated Graves and that she wanted to start me on methimazole (10mg). When I asked, she said that she had not previously seen someone who had Graves with bloodwork and ultrasounds that did not indicate Graves, which was unsettling. Before I start this medication, I would like a second opinion to help me get a better understanding of what is happening in my body. Most recent bloodwork at shows in range T4 Free, slightly High T3 (1.7 ng/dL), TSH 0.00, thyroid antibodies in the normal range, and thyroglobulin level is elevated.
Has anyone seen this before?
