How is healthcare up in the great white north?
As an American, I think universal healthcare sounds amazing. However, whenever I bring it up with my family, about half of them claim to know Canadians who hate it.
For example, my aunt married the son of a Canadian who moved here, and supposedly their entire family dislikes it. A family friend who recently moved to Canada to be with her husband allegedly feels the same way according to my Mom.
Is there any truth to this, or are people here so conditioned to believe that any complaint about healthcare abroad is proof that universal healthcare is worse?
I'm leaning toward the latter, but curious as to what the Canadians of Reddit have to say about this themselves.
Thank you. I would appreciate any level of discussion on the subject! I want to move abroad personally to be a part of a more just healthcare system with fairer prices.
