'05 Honda CRV (K24) Vibrates Like A Helicopter
Hey guys,
I have an '05 Honda CR-V that I bought three years ago for $2000. I have put a lot of money into updating and repairing it...myself.
I have an issue with shaking and vibration at idle, and weird lurching (like bucking or coast, decelerate, accelerate) in drive with my foot off the gas in 1st gear.
No issues in upper 1st and lower 2nd gear. Sometimes it feels like it doesn't want to shift down from 2nd to 1st though.
In upper 2nd gear, it vibrates a decent amount before shifting to 3rd. In 3rd and up, it vibrates quite a bit.
Fuel trims, O2 stats are in normal ranges.
When it first started, I had a VVT Solenoid thrown, then knock sensor code thrown. I replaced both, and code went away.
I have done engine/trans mounts, recently did two trans drain/fills, rear dif fluid last year, new spark plugs, valve lash adjustment, and throttle body cleaning. I recently tried adding Lubeguard Shudderfixx (suspicious of bad torque converter) and it seemed to reduce vibration by 50% for maybe 50 miles. Now it's back where it was.
Any ideas? Would a bad torque converter cause issues like this? Especially at idle? What would be the best way to diagnose this?
Thanks. This problem is driving me nuts.
