Ekko and his Firelights are Lowkey overrated and frankly disappointing
Listen put down the pitchforks and hear me out. I got reasons and I'll list them out.
1 Their whole cause of freedom fighting and the whole tree thing is pretty damn cool. But damn, the firelights work so DAMN SLOW. We barely get to see them work and they are just not that effective of freedom.fighters when it comes to taking back their city. Ekko and his firelights have been taking the city back for like what 7 years or some shit?
They can't take down Jinx? They can't take down a single Chem Baron or if they did I don't know of. We see them take down like what one Shimmer shipment? I thought they would have way more impact especially in the undercity if JINX is the fucking symbol and not the FIRELIGHTS like wtf. I guess all their work was for nothing if Jinx is the person that they are looking forward to lol. Also why the hell did it take Ekko so long to take down Jinx? You can make the argument that it was his childhood crush but dawg , he has a COMMUNITY to take care. That takes the cake over some childhood crush. They have been spending 7 years and only after he finds Jinxs sister, now he steps up.and does what needs to be done.. Ekko is such a damn slow Freedom fighter leader. In all that time Ekko could have invented more than like Hoverboards to help their people?
Now let's get down to the funniest part;
- People like to blame Piltover for the oppression, totally get it and yeah they are responsible for doing that. However after Jinx bombs the Council Building, I'm supposed to feel bad they DONT retaliate in someway? Where tf was the firelights when she was trying to nuke the Upper city? Don't they have spies everywhere.
Caitlyn retaliate in kind and here is the best part. Cait and Vis group clean up the streets of Zaun in a few weeks in a span of time the FIRELIGHTS couldn't do in 7 YEARS. Hello? Destroyed Shimmer production. Removed Silcos empire super fast and basically removed alot of the drug empire that was plaguing their community and that was PILTOVER. Where the hell where Ekko and the Firelights during all this? Just hanging out while the undercity cleaned house of the main antagonizing force they been trying to remove for years. Cait and Vis squad did their job FOR THEM and they dipped? Any the fact why are the fucking firelights not looking for Jinx too? They should be hunting her.like a dog but no Piltover once again is getting rid of the problem child for both factions. Piltover did more for Zaun than the firelights did in 7 years..some Freedom Fighters.
- Where was Ekko during the Noxus Regime? Hello Ekko, is your buddy buddy time with Hiemerdinger more important than your fucking city being invaded by Martial law? Why did id take FUCKING ISHA for the people to rally..Where the Hell you been all this time? Why isn't he the face of the rebellion and not Jinx when Jinx couldn't give two damns about Zaun.
Ekko really did just sideline his whole community for what? A side quest on topside with the very COUNCIL MEMBER that cause the entire Undercity to be that way. Make it male sense Ekko. I can get Jinx starting some shit and dipping but the leader of the most prominent faction fighting for freedom during the most sensitive time in a decade is just so shameful. Come on boy savior. They they have the AUDACITY bringing him back when Ekko literally didn't just leave the firelights to rot in prison. Did no one firelight wonder why Tf their most hated foe saved them and not their fearless leader. They have the audacity to call him the boy savior When the biggest OP in the show is the reason they are set free. But no Ekko is on some science project with a council.member..my goodness.
Once more they have the audacity to write Ekko coming back FINALLY with some bulshit deux ex machina device to save Jinx..Ekko hello? If you would have talked to LITERALLY ANY OTHER TIME this season yoy could have changed her just fine. You literally could have just seen Isha and that would have told you everything you would have needed to know that Jinx is still a good person. Nah dawg. He needed a mental health vacation while everyone in thr fissures was getting their ASSES handed to them. I get Jayce being a hero cause he went through some shit. But Ekko really? One fight with a childhood crush and thr firelights.just stop being a force to be reckoned with? Sure buddy. He leaves the city , goes on vacation, take his.DAMN time making the Z Drive, comes back GETS THE GIRL.and now he's the HERO? He sacrificed a version of Jinx that isn't even his?. If he Ekko was even damn here at all he would have:
Seen Jinx with Isha and saw her humanity in her eyes
Seen Jinx reunited and reconcile with Vi and see that even her family accepts her
HE WOULD HAVE SEEN VANDER
Seen Jinx save his people from prison and shown the firelights that even her took a chance with her.
Seen her turn a leaf at Viktors camp, being Powder
Been there for Jinx to protect Jinx and Isha
Been there to CONSOLE her and prevent her from getting arrested.
His firelights couldn't regroup because Ekko was on field trip and could have helped fight and get people to safety.
Say what you want to say about Ekko and the Firelights but they were damn nearly Useless besides their community which did basically nothing but withheld thr inevitable.
What yall think. You think the Boy Savior did what he needed to do.
