Are Mid-Year Reports Considered Heavily?

I didn't lock in much in the beginning of high school so my gpa is around a 93 UW. But for my senior year, I currently have about a 98 UW gpa coming into the end of the first semester. Would this help offset my previous gpa a lot or make it seem not as mediocre when applying to top schools? Also I am taking more course rigor this year compared to the other 3 years if that will help it seem better.
