Where Should I attend Middle School

Hey everyone,

So for context I’m about to graduate 5th grade and I live in NYC and it’s always been my dream to go to Columbia (it’s right by my cousin’s house). I hear that most NYC students at Columbia come from specialized high schools, so I need to go to a good middle school that will prepare me for the SHSAT so I can go to a specialized high school so I can get into Columbia. I also need a school that offers pre calc… I think I’m going to be a sociology major but I heard it’s really good for admissions to take Calc BC a couple years early.

Do you guys have any recommendations or any other advice? Middle school is a big step closer to college admissions and I’m super anxious but excited! I’m from Queens btw. Please let me know asap.

EDIT: I appreciate all the thoughtful responses everyone but this is a Wednesday shitpost and I’m a 19 year old college student. I just think it’s funny that the college admissions obsessions seem to be starting earlier and earlier which also kind of makes sense because some high schools make the process easier than others.
