Why Can’t We Gradually Reveal Clozed Parts of an Image Without Add-ons?

I’ve been using Anki for a while and love the flexibility of the cloze feature for text. However, I’ve been trying to create cards where I cloze out parts of an image and reveal them one by one during review (like a gradual hint system).

To my surprise, it seems like this isn’t natively possible without using add-ons. Is there a specific reason why this functionality hasn’t been integrated into Anki? It feels like a natural extension of cloze deletions, and it would be incredibly helpful for learning visually heavy subjects like anatomy or maps.

Has anyone else struggled with this? Do you think this could be something added to future versions, or is it just too niche to justify building into the core app? Would love to hear your thoughts!
