Can someone help verify my AirPods max

Got these for Christmas when I first tried them on they sounded good but my parents commented on how they could hear my music right away, even at around half volume the sound bleeds, idk how good the noise suppression is and the only thing I have to compare is my AirPods Pro. The transparency mode also isn’t very good with voices for some reason only random outside/ambient noise. Trying to figure out if all of this is just because maybe they got them refurbished or scammed.
