Worried about low dosage (10/mg every other day)

I have been prescribed 10mg everyday for the past 2 months. I'm 58 kg, male. Everything went well, save for a few stubborn pimples here and there. The only side effect I had seemed to be dry lips. My face has been the clearest it has been in years, my face is no longer an oil slick at the end of the day, and my hair just feels normal.

However, after my 2nd blood test, my derm found that I had high LDL cholesterol (4.6 mmol/L) . It was borderline high (3.8 mmol/L) before I began the course. I always had an active lifestyle and paid attention to what I ate. No idea why my LDL cholesterol would be high. The accutane pushed it even higher, unfortunately.

My derm still agreed to continue the course, but on a reduced dosage of 10mg every other day. With such a low dosage, I'm worried that my acne would no longer be in control... Did anyone here have a good experience with such a low dosage? How did you guys manage your cholesterol?
