Is the CPA worth it?

Hey everyone,

I’m 23 years old and considering whether pursuing a CPA is the right move for me, and I’d appreciate some guidance. I graduated this past May and currently work in risk advisory. My goal is to transition into a role in transaction advisory or restructuring consulting, so I decided to take the remaining accounting courses needed for CPA eligibility and start studying for the exam.

However, with all the recent discussions about AI potentially replacing accounting-related tasks, I’m feeling discouraged. I’m hesitant to invest significant time and effort into something that might not significantly enhance my career prospects.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or advice. Thank you!
