Moving from Cyber to Cloud (Cloud Architect?)

Hola,

So I have been in IT for 11 years with the last 4 being cyber, and I think I have made the decision to pivot over to a more cloud focused path. While I enjoy(ed) cyber, its definitely not what I thought it would be. I miss being technical, coming up with solutions, and working with state of the art technology. I currently work for the government as an ISSM, and I am not enjoying this policy work in the slightest. The cloud has always interested me, and I believe it is a strong career path for the future from what I can tell.

Being someone that has no professional hands on experience of cloud work, I am currently working on my CCP and then focusing on my SAA after that. I would like to pursue the cloud architect role, but with the little information I have, I don't know how solid of a position that is.

I am currently in the lower quarter of $100k salary, and I don't know if I should expect a pay cut if/when I do make a transition to a cloud position with limited experience.

Any insight, tips, experiences you would like to share, I'll take it all. Thanks in advance!
