ASUS ROG STRIX G713 (G17) BIOS AND EC FIRMWARE REQUIRED

EDIT: ASUS support was fairly quick and they replied back around the 24hr mark from the initial ticket. They even had a certified service center near me (which is sooo soooo good because usually my place has no such thing for any device) and now the laptop is in their center being worked on. Hopefully it’s good news within 3-5 days.

ASUS STRIX G713QR (Ryzen 9 5900HX || RTX 3070)

Hello guys.

My brother got the above mentioned laptop 1 and a half days ago and after like an hour of playing with it, it BSOD'd and the RTX 3070 in it has ever since been showing code 43 in the device manager. In the ASUS Armory Crate software, it shows the laptop is in iGPU only mode and that the GPU is in EXTREME POWER SAVING MODE. The GPU is still visible in BIOS. We have tried everything including changing iGPU settings in the Armory Crate and:

  • Driver updates
  • DDU and then driver updates
  • Fresh windows install
  • updating PCIE drivers
  • updating chipset
  • updating BIOS

but nothing has worked. NVIDIA Control Panel simply won't launch. Geforce Experience opens up but usually says no NVIDIA Graphics Card detected or lands on the driver update page, downloads drivers, installs it, and still shows the same driver is ready for DOWNLOAD, if I download again... its just rinse repeat of download install and then download install again.

I have a theory. These issues might be caused by a bad / corrupted signal sent by ASUS Armory Crate to turn off the dedicated GPU and switch to integrated instead for power saving mode and that has caused some changes in the chipset/EC chip that can only be reverted via ASUS's proprietary software (Armory Crate) or by their own technicians or by reverting the EC firmware back to original for the said laptop.

If any of you have the same spec laptop, please upload your EC firmware backup to drive and link it for me or if possible, please provide me with an original image of windows that the laptop came with me (no I don't want to steal your data, I am just hoping the original drivers that ASUS ships the laptop with can help me)

IF the above ideas are too stupid and won't work or are not possible to execute, please suggest me what else I could do because sending the laptop back from where we live is going to cost us 15-20% of the laptops price and we only hope to do that as a last resort.
