Need advice

So I’m planning on taking APUSH this year and I was really looking forward to it before doing a little research. First a little backstory. I’m pretty good at writing and enjoy it. Yet I’m just average at memorizing things but I can be great at it if I put in the work. I just want to pull out a C or above in the class because it’s my senior year and I will most likely already be accepted into a college before the years over. So my question is, how hard is it and do you think it pulling a decent or semi-decent grade out of it is hard ?
