Question About My Position in my School's Caste

So this year I began taking one of the more rigorous Advanced Placement courses at my school this year. The class I'm referring to is Advanced Placement Precalculus. My counselor AND teacher recommended I drop the course due to the difficulty imbued into the curriculum. Within the first week, all of my "peers" (I refer to them as my "lessers") dropped the class because of the difficulty 💀. Are they just stupid, or should I just own up to my intellectual superiority? For reference (to my superiority), I got the highest SAT score at my school by far: an 1100. Am I cooked, chat?

TL;DR: I'm taking one of the hardest Advanced Placement courses and I'm wondering how bad I have it.
