Is statistic sharing harmful to fandom spaces?

I won’t be saying what fandom I’m in but recently there’s been posts going around talking about how writers sharing their stats (eg. Thank you for 1,000 kudos) on social media is harmful to the fandom community. And also sharing statistics of how much fanfiction you have read in the year in quantitative data rather than qualitative data such as tropes.

A writer shared their grievances saying that it’s harmful as it can cause other writers to compare to each other.

It was thrown around that it was making the fandom space into a place of consumerism and this a bad thing as fanfiction is a gift.

I’m wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on this? Personally as a fanfic writer I like celebrating milestones as it’s a way readers show appreciation of the hard work put in to writing a fic. I don’t mean it in way where I’m boasting about my stats. Where is the line drawn?
