Trying to come up with an Adeptus Mechanicus-like character, and could use some help understanding the Artifice class better

So, as the tittle says, i wanted to try Artifice class on a new upcoming campaign with some friends. As i was checking on the class, my impressions were:

Alchemist didnt really called my attention and was somewhat too far from the theme, i believe.

Artillerist for an Skitarii Ranger-like class. The subclass seemed very well-put together; the cannon variants are cool, i could use a staff as a rifle to "fire" spells and roleplay like i using different ammo type for different spell effects, and i could have DEX enough for the ac on medium armor and focus on INT.

Battle smith is cool, and i could roleplay as a semi-frontliner with my trusty Servitor (Steel defender) at my side. Have him do stuff for me, like the Techs do. Having wpn prof and rolling with INT is a nice touch as well.

Armorer picked my attention because i believe it would "allow me" to rp more on the body modification aspect the faction is known for, but outside of that, i dont think the subclass has that oomph. I could be wrong here though.

So im leaning more into Artillerist so i could fill in the ranged dmg dealer role, or even battlesmith so the servitor could create space for me, as these two seemed like the best subclasses for the intended fantasy. Unless there's something im not seeing on Armorer. What do you guys think?
