Bambu is a threat to this entire community. Prusa is King

There is a far darker undercurrent in this brand than their recent anti-consumer shenanigans.

I am happy to see the general public being alerted to what any professional in the 3D printing space already knows:

Bambu printers snitch on how you use them: they send data back to china via encrypted packets. With the recent TOS change requiring authorization to even run the printer in LAN mode, there is no way to consider printing anything proprietary on a Bambu Labs Printer.

Even if you aren’t printing something super proprietary, their push to put your files in their closed gate cloud goes beyond an annoying mandatory subscription. It opens the door for your work to be stolen, reappropriated, and mass manufactured.

Beyond being so blatantly anti-consumer, Bambu Labs is anti-creator, and creators are what keep this community thriving. Whether it’s figurines or functional storage units, open source ingenuity is the beating heart of the 3D printing community.

Innocent people do not silence criticisms- they address concerns about their product.
