People from other countries who have visited the USA, what are your opinions on homelessness here?

As a person from the USA who travels elsewhere, it seems like the USA has more homeless than anywhere else. There are some homeless in the tropics, but even then I’d say the US has a comparable amount. I don’t think I’ve traveled anywhere else with cold weather where I’ve noticed any homeless people to speak of. In the US, it doesn’t matter if the area is warm or cold, there will be homeless. I feel embarrassed to be from a country that doesn’t take care of its people. But what do you think? Is there a large homeless population where you’re from? How does it make you feel when you’re traveling in the USA?
