Feral Dubai child called me a m*th*r f*ck*r
Picture this: around 8 PM this evening, I had just parked my car and was heading towards the entrance of my apartment building. I noticed a group of kids—three boys, around 6 or 7 years old—near a Talabat motorcycle parked by the entrance. One of the boys was fiddling with the bike, and to my alarm, the delivery rider had left his keys in the ignition. This boy was trying to start the bike.
Naturally, I was concerned for his safety. I approached him and asked what he was doing, stopping him from potentially hurting himself. The boy left the bike and headed into the building. I followed them and we ended up in the same elevator. While in the elevator, I explained to the boy that what he was doing was dangerous. After all, wouldn't any responsible adult look out for the kids in their neighborhood?
I got off the elevator at my floor, leaving the boys inside. As I stepped out, I heard one of them shout, "motherf*cker!" I was in disbelief. How could children in Dubai be so poorly raised and feel so entitled? How is it that boys no older than 7 are out at night unsupervised? Do their parents know what their kids are like? Do they even care?
The only word that comes close to describing these children is "feral." Absolutely wild. I fear that the boy I encountered today is on a path to either jail or worse.
So, my question is: how do children born and raised in Dubai end up so poorly behaved? What can be done about this alarming lack of parental supervision?
