X1C vs P1S with HA or OctoEverywhere - Detection

I’ve been trying to decide between the X1C or the P1S. I don’t really plan on doing anything that requires the X1C (nylon etc). But I am really interested in the better camera and AI stuff like spaghetti detection. But not for $700 CDN extra. I have a bad habit of buying the “better version” just because of FOMO.

Would it be possible to use a P1S with OctoPi/OctoEverywhere and use their detection? Anyone doing that but regret not buying the X1C? (If so. Why?). Or something in HomeAssistant (have both HA set up and a Pi with OctoPrint on my Ender3 available to use).
