20w Anatomy Scan: baby was positioned away and couldn’t get a view of profile (nasal bridge) or heart! Anyone else?
They assured me this was super common to miss a photo or two during an anatomy scan, but obviously nerve-racking, despite low risk NIPT results!
Baby’s face was turned away, so the US tech could not visualize baby’s profile/nasal bone/nasal bridge. Same for one side of the heart. They reassured me that it’s not that the structures aren’t present, but that they couldn’t view them due to the way that baby was positioned.
I have to go back to try again - I know it happens all the time, but would love some reassuring stories to hold me over until my next appointment in a couple weeks! 🙏🏻
